A competitor who coaches.
MJ has trained in martial arts for about 40 years. His background spans Tang Soo Do, Taekwondo, kickboxing and boxing, and he built CT Freestyle Kickboxing as a style that blends those arts into one complete striking game.
He has designed and taught accredited martial arts courses at Quinnipiac University for roughly 20 years and serves as faculty advisor to the Quinnipiac MMA club. He was selected by New England coaches to represent the US Martial Arts Team and took first place in his division at the 2026 USMAT Invitational.
